In order to apply for the scholarship, simply apply to The Iron Yard’s Tampa Bay class starting on January 26th and write a short 250 word essay explaining what you would build when you graduate from The Iron Yard (you can add this essay to the end of the form in the “Anything else?” field).

As a part of The Iron Yard program, students with little technical experience will learn to develop web applications in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from a 15-year industry veteran over 12 immersive and demanding weeks. The program concludes with a production-quality capstone project imagined and executed by the students, where they put every skill they’ve learned to use.

“Together, The Iron Yard and the St. Pete Chamber are preparing the next generation of developers, filling the already overwhelming demand for tech talent in the Tampa Bay market and beyond. This is a tremendous opportunity to make a potentially life-changing career move.”

—Toni Aliberti, Campus Director, The Iron Yard Tampa Bay

One of our recent graduates, Jose, just landed his dream job at Mad Mobile, a software company in Tampa Bay.

“I was going down a career path that I wasn’t happy with before, but now I’m working in small dev shop that does mobile e-commerce sites for well-known brands. Going through the front end program at the Iron Yard allowed me to pick up the skills I needed to even land this job in the first place and skills that I use every single day. It’s pretty awesome and the future looks really good for me in this industry.”
