Greenville Kids Academy

We started up another round of classes for kids this week!

Both classes are being taught by alumni of our Front End Engineering class that graduated July 2014: Jeff Dill teaches our Scratch class on Mondays, with kids learning programming concepts in the context of making games. Whitney Williams and Drew Botka teach the HTML/CSS class on Wednesdays, getting kids up to speed on the basics of building websites. Additional volunteers help out to ensure all the kids get plenty of assistance. (Shout out to Jay, Sara, Sam and Tommy!)

Sometimes parents come up to us after class and ask why we do this for free. Really the answer is simple. it’s rewarding for us to be able to share our love of programming and to have the opportunity to get young people excited about building the future.

Thanks to all of our volunteers for taking time out of their busy schedules to help keep these classes going. If you would like to stay up to date on future classes, please sign up for the Greenville Kids Academy mailing list!
