Skills loading… progress: 25%

The latest group of front end engineers has now finished the third week at The Iron Yard, digging deeper into JavaScript with type coercion, scope, AJAX and Underscore.js. Concepts are quickly building on top of previous assignments and leading toward next week’s group projects.

Sara Kennedy, from Columbia, SC, describes what the intensive experience is like so far: “The first 3 weeks have been a whirlwind of late nights, gallons of coffee and a lot of code. This week has been a great confidence boost, as I have been able to more easily use a lot of the skills we’ve learned.  I’m looking forward to the rest of my time at The Iron Yard, though I may need to join a coffee addiction group when it’s all over.”

It’s amazing to see what they are doing already. The students have been working together very well, with the variety of backgrounds and personalities contributing so much to the experience. You can’t help but be inspired by the singular focus they all have on becoming excellent developers. With a quarter of the program complete, they are well on their way to taking on the future with their new super powers.

Can’t wait to see what they create!
