Big Data Week – Learn to be an Engineer!

Education is in our DNA at The Iron Yard, so naturally we seek out opportunities to participate in community events that promote further learning through passion in engineering.

In just under two weeks on May 5th, Big Data Week launches in Atlanta and we are so excited to be participating in this event as a sponsor for a panel discussion on what we think is a pretty important topic: How to Become a Developer or Data Scientist.

International Big Data Week is a week long series of independently hosted events taking place May 5-11th, organized as a platform to educate, inform and inspire a global community of data scientists, business executives, technologists, data visualizers and data businesses spanning major commercial, financial, social and technological sectors.

So, how do you become a developer or data scientist? Find out at our evening panel line-up, where speakers from a range of developers, mentors, students, and data scientists will give you a 10-minute look into their field of expertise. Could there be a better source?

We’re so excited to be a part of this happy hour and speaker panel, and we have our very own instructors, Shelby Switzer and Jo Albright, participating in the discussion. Additionally, speakers on the panel represent some great companies here in Atlanta, including MailChimpEmcienBig Nerd RanchGitHub, and Pindrop Security.

We also couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with AKQA, who’s hosting the event in their gorgeous Midtown studio. Ready for the details? Check out the Meetup page to sign up and get details on where to be on Tuesday, May 6th from 6:30-9PM.
