Front-End or Back-End?

Business in the front…

A very common (and worthwhile!) question that we get often from our potential students is regarding the technology tracks and which one they should take and consider.

There is no cure-all answer as each technology flavor has a variety of attractions that might make sense for X Student and wrong for Y Student and yet perfect for Z Student. The short answer is that we simply do not know until we counsel and coach our potential candidates through our interview process.

And we provide as much context as we possibly can and angle them towards the best solution. On occasion, we will write about our perspectives and recently our very own Shelby Switzer has shared her thoughts that is now a must-read for all of our potential candidates!

She also touches upon the most important fact about our offering which she states aptly:

Probably the biggest aim of the course, though, or of any course at TIY, isn’t to teach you just Ruby/Rails. It’s to teach you how to think about code, about full-stack software engineering, about problem-solving.

Please feel free to read this post here! Thanks Shelby for so elegantly sharing your thoughts – it’s been an incredible resource for many of our students!
